Womb - Exhibition

Director / Designer

Womb is an impressionistic vision of how a baby in utero might see the world from inside a mother’s womb. The exhibition is a personal art project that documents a child’s early experiences in the months before birth.  Accompanied by a mix of natural sounds of daily life and an ambient original score, the images create a new perspective shown through the detailed resolution of 8K.

I created the concept and all artwork for this project.  Separate prints were also commissioned and printed on glass and sold during the exhibition.

Womb has been shown at the following Art Exhibitions:

Art and Tech Summit, Christie’s NYC
Motion Texture Primiere, Spiral Museum, Tokyo

Roppongi Art Night, Mori Art Museum

Science has proven that a baby in utero can hear the sounds of the world around them, Womb is an attempt to envision what that world could look like through the eyes of an infant inside a mothers womb.

The inspiration for this artwork came about as way to document my child’s early experiences in the months before she was born.  Every frame in the film was taken from actual locations and events during the pregnancy period.  These images were then modified and treated to create the final interpretation.

High resolution glass prints were also commisioned for this series and sold at the launch event. These framed outputs inherit the vivid beauty of the film and create a more personal statement and intimate way to experience the artwork.
